Best Non-Feature Film

The country’s popular National Film awards were first handed out in 1954. These awards are considered as one of the most prominent and oldest film award ceremony in India. Since 1973, the award ceremonies are administrated by the Directorate of Film Festivals. The Best Non-Feature Film award is given by the Directorate of film festivals under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. The winners are honored with a cash prize of Rs.1, 00,000 and a Swarna Kamal (Golden Lotus). The ‘Best Non-Feature Film’ award was introduced in the year 1982 and ‘Face After Storm’ directed by Prakash Jha won the inaugural award.
