Critics Award for Best Movie

Filmfare Awards, since their commencement in 1953, have honored the best movie of the year. The winning movie has always been decided by popular vote. Some years after the inception of the awards ceremony, it was realized that films of creative value, but little commercial appeal, go unnoticed. It was found that people were unable to look into the deeper aspect of the movie and got swayed by the entertaining factor and commercial appeal of a film. Therefore, a new category of awards was added, by the name of Critics Award for Best Movie, with the aim of fulfilling the need to appreciate the artistic films of Bollywood, in other words - meaningful cinema. Here, we have given the list of the movies that have received 'Filmfare Critics Best Movie Award', since the past few years.
