IIFA Awards 2005

The IIFA award won million hearts worldwide in the very first year of its existence. The IIFA awards are unique as they are the only award ceremony where the winners are selected by popular votes cast by viewers worldwide. The nominations for the various award categories are however done by eminent personalities from within the film industry. The endearing awards were kicked off by IIFA’s Brand Ambassador Amitabh Bachchan in the city of Amsterdam. The ceremony was filled with a mix of glamour, entertainment and presence of some of the brightest stars from the film industry. Salman Khan, Aalaika Arora Khan, Amrita Arora, Esha Deol, Isha Sharwani, Shahid Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor & Daler Mehndi left the audience mesmerized by their performances.
