The IIFA (International Indian Film Academy) awards emerged to reserve a prominent place for Indian cinema internationally. The captivating IIFA awards were first handed out in the year 2000. The best background score is one of the sub-categories of technical awards presented each year. The winner for the award is chosen by the viewers. The award was introduced in the year 2000 and was not awarded until 2005 for unknown reasons. The inaugural award was grabbed by Vishal Dadlani for the film ‘Godmother’. After five years of gap the award was presented to Salim-Sulaiman for the film ‘Mujhse Shaadi Karogi’. Listed below are the winners who walked away with the prestigious awards.
