Zee Entertainment Enterprises is the largest Media and Entertainment Company; also the first broadcaster to foresee the importance of Bollywood award show. Hence in 1998 the Indian Cinema industry saw the creation of the Zee Cine Awards. The objective of the event was to reward the best artist in Bollywood. The 2nd Zee Cine Awards was held on 27th February (technical) and 14th March 1999 at Centaur Hotel in Mumbai. From 1998-2001 Lux was the first sponsors for the event. Therefore the event was also known as Lux Zee Cine Awards 1999 or 2nd Zee Cine Awards – 1999. Film “Kuch Kuch Hota Hai” garnered multiple Zee Cine awards for the year. The notable ‘Lifetime Achievement’ award was given to Shammi Kapoor and Lata Mangeshkar. The winners for the other categories are listed below.

Zee Cine Other Awards 1999

The ‘Lux Face of the Year’ was a special award introduced in the year 1998. The award was presented to queen of the heart of million fans, Rani Mukherji for “Ghulam” and “Kuch Kuch Hota Hai”.
