The Indian Cinema industry saw the dawn of Zee Cine Awards in the year 1998. The mega star-studded event was first inaugurated in Mumbai. The ZCA went international in 2004 and held the ceremony in Dubai. The winners of ‘Zee Cine Award Best Director’ are chosen by the public and were announced in the month of March. The awards are presented to the artists for their outstanding performance in the previous year. The inaugural award was presented to J.P. Dutta for the film “Border”.
