Best Traditional Folk Album

The Grammy Award for Best Traditional Folk Album was first handed out in 1987. Famed folk singer, comedienne and actress, June Carter Cash has been honored the most in the category, winning the award three times. Before the introduction of this category, contemporary and traditional folk were combined and represented with the award Grammy Award for Best Ethnic or Traditional Folk Recording. After its addition to the categories, the award was called Best Traditional Folk recording till 1993, when it was changed to Best Traditional Folk Album.
