The year 1998 saw the formation of Zee Cine Awards initiated by Zee Telefilms Limited. Zee Cine Awards were created with the objective to reward the best artists in Indian Cinema. The 3rd Zee Cine Awards were held on 26th February (technical) and 11th March 2000 at Centaur Hotel in Mumbai. The event for the year was hosted by the gorgeous Yukta Mookhey (Miss World). 3rd Zee Cine Awards 2000 was also known as- Lux Zee Cine Awards 2000, as Lux was the promoter for the years 1998-2001.
