Zee Cine Awards are initiated by Zee Telefilms Limited in 1998. Zee Cine Awards 2003 was also known as Fair View Zee Cine Awards or 6th Zee Cine Awards 2003. The ceremony was held on 11th January at Tulip Star Hotel in Mumbai. The show was hosted by the duo, Arbaaz Khan and his wife, Maliaka Arora-Khan. The audiences were delighted by the performances of Aishwarya Rai, Shamita Shetty and Esha Deol. The jury included Feroz Khan, Rakhee, and Komal Nahta. “Devdas” swept multiple awards for the year. Few eyebrows were raised at the event when Sushmita Sen was announced the winner for her role in “Filhaal”, as Madhuri Dixit was expected to win ‘Best Supporting Actress’ award for her role Chandramukhi in “Devdas”. However it was jury’s decision and speculation of Rakhee nailing for her daughter’s film to win some awards. Ravishing actresses, Aishwarya Rai and Preity Zinta walked away with special awards from the event. “Devdas”, “The Legend of Bhagat Singh” and “Saathiya” gathered ample awards for the year.
