Filmfare Awards is a grand event for Bollywood. The Awards ceremony is one of the oldest and most outstanding film events in India. These awards, organized by the Filmfare magazine, were commenced in 1953. However, the category for the 'Best Playback Singer' was added six years later after its initiation i.e. in the year 1959. In the initial phase, a single award was given, common for both male and female singers. Later on, in 1968, separate awards were instituted for male and female playback singers. Filmfare Awards cover all the aspects that go into making a movie superhit and the award for the best male singer is an important facet of this event. Here is a list of the winners of the 'Filmfare Best Male Playback Award', for the last few years.
