The Indian cinema industry saw the birth of Filmfare Awards in the year 1954. The awards were incepted by the famous Filmfare magazine to acknowledge and honor upcoming talent in Bollywood. The 43rd Filmfare Awards were held on 31st January at NSE Industrial Complex in Mumbai. Nikhil Kapoor and Sandhya Mridul were the hosts of the evening. The film ‘Dil To Pagal Hai’ (directed by Yash Chopra) fetched seven awards for the year. It was the first hindi movie to be shot in germany.
